Job summary

Heidelberg Materials in Victoria is seeking a Business Analyst to support the Southern Region management team with accurate and timely reporting. You will collect, consolidate and analyze data to inform decisions and strengthen internal controls.

You will prepare monthly regional reports, investigate variances between actuals, budget and forecast, and assist with Capex modelling and budgeting. Strong SAP and advanced Excel skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in equivalent data collection and analysis role or similar.
• Degree in a relevant field is required.
• Strong and well-formed SAP skills.
• Advanced spreadsheet modelling capabilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven commercial analytical and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, consolidation and review of monthly management reports at plant and regional levels; investigate variances between actual, budget and forecast results (e.g., price, volume, overhead).
• Collection, consolidation and analysis of regional, national and ad hoc data requests as required.
• Review and analysis of capital expenditure applications; assist in capital financial models (Capex Investment Appraisal).
• Assistance in tracking, implementation and assessment of capital expenditure post audits.
• Maintenance or improvement of existing business model templates and creation of new templates.
• Involvement in the preparation and review of regional annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Development of risk management and assessment tools for financial investments and contractual undertakings.
• Compliance of internal control procedures and policies (e.g., Trade Practices, Plant Audits).
• Development of supportive relationships with internal customers and head office functions.
