Job summary

NSW Health is seeking an experienced nursing and midwifery leader to join Lismore Base Hospital as Director of Nursing and Midwifery. This pivotal role oversees day-to-day management and strategic direction of nursing and midwifery services within the district's largest hospital, reporting to senior district leadership.

You will drive workforce excellence, support safe, high-quality patient care, and contribute to contemporary models of care, shaping a positive workplace culture and championing

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
• Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, management or a related discipline.
• Proven experience leading large and diverse clinical workforces.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management of nursing and midwifery services across Lismore Base Hospital.
• Lead workforce planning, resource management and budget oversight.
• Drive quality improvement activities and evidence-based practice.
• Support organisational priorities through strategic planning and service development.
• Build strong multidisciplinary relationships across the hospital and district.
