Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Regional Health & Safety Lead to oversee high-risk civil works across earthworks, foundations, and utilities on a large transmission line project. You will mentor the civil safety team, drive incident investigations, and ensure compliance with OHS standards.

The role is regional, based with the possibility of camp accommodation, reporting to the Senior Manager Health & Safety and working with project directors and engineers to manage critical risks and promote safe

Qualifications

• OHS qualification or equivalent plus civil safety experience.
• Experience in managing high‑risk work and critical risk controls.
• Knowledge of OHS legislation, audits and investigations.
• Desirable: transmission, utilities or major linear infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe delivery of high-risk civil activities and critical risk controls
• Lead field engagements to verify work meets approved controls
• Lead risk assessments and support SWMS, permit-to-work and temporary works controls
• Lead incident investigations and share lessons across the project
• Conduct inspections, audits and assurance, and close out corrective actions
• Assure contractor safety performance through reviews and corrective action monitoring
• Mentor the civil safety team and report performance to senior leaders
