Job summary

Ark Energy in Brisbane seeks a Lead Civil Engineer to provide practical technical leadership across civil infrastructure for renewable energy projects from development through construction and handover.

You will coordinate external consultants, review deliverables, and ensure constructability and compliance while shaping geotechnical investigations, cost estimates, and project planning. Strong collaboration across disciplines is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• At least seven years’ civil design experience across major infrastructure, renewable energy, mining or transport projects.
• Demonstrated experience supporting renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil engineering expertise across roads, foundations, drainage, earthworks, site platforms and associated infrastructure.
• Review civil engineering deliverables from feasibility and concept design through construction and handover.
• Coordinate and provide technical oversight of external civil design consultants.
• Review drawings, calculations, specifications and reports for quality, compliance and constructability.
• Lead civil Safety in Design activities and ensure identified risks are appropriately addressed.
• Provide civil engineering input into feasibility studies, site assessments, concept design and project optioneering.
• Define geotechnical investigation requirements and review associated reports and recommendations.
• Support civil cost estimates, risk assessments, construction methodologies and project planning.
• Prepare and review civil engineering scopes of work, technical specifications and tender documentation.
• Support technical tender evaluations and consultant and contractor selection.
• Provide civil engineering support during construction, including RFIs, design changes, non-conformances and site-related engineering challenges.
• Coordinate civil interfaces with electrical, structural, BESS and broader infrastructure packages.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and project team members.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of civil engineering standards, specifications and design review processes.
