Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice in Cowra, NSW is seeking a Child Protection Caseworker for Western NSW to respond to safety concerns and support families.

You will work with high-need families, develop safety plans, attend court, and collaborate with other agencies. A relevant degree and strong communication are essential. A valid driver’s licence and Working with Children clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with families and agencies.
• Driver’s licence (P1 or above) and Working with Children clearance.

Responsibilities

• Respond to safety concerns about children or young people in need.
• Work collaboratively with other agencies and engage in complex problem solving.
• Assist families in formulating goals addressing safety and well-being, including home visits.
