Job summary

NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development is seeking a Biosecurity Officer for South East Local Land Services. You will support landholders to manage biosecurity, perform field activities, and ensure adherence to national standards.

Key duties include surveillance, emergency response support, stakeholder engagement, and maintaining records for program evaluation. Travel and accreditation requirements apply.

Qualifications

  • Ability to undertake Biosecurity Officer accreditation including Certificate IV in Government Investigations.
  • Hold and maintain Authorised Officer status under the Biosecurity Act.
  • Pesticide application qualifications to AQF3 level.
  • Possess or willing to obtain NSW firearms licence and related attestations.
  • Current NSW Class C Driver Licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field and regulatory activities for disease management.
  • Ensure compliance with biosecurity legislation and regulations.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders on biosecurity initiatives.
  • Support surveillance, investigation, and emergency response efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to program evaluation.
