Job summary

NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust is seeking a Regional Conservation Officer to deliver biodiversity conservation initiatives across the Central West/Western Team. The role focuses on private land conservation, managing agreements, and providing expert ecological guidance.

You will work in a regional team delivering projects, building partnerships and advancing conservation outcomes. The position combines fieldwork, planning, and stakeholder engagement in a hybrid setup with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in natural resource management or biodiversity.
• Ability to deliver biodiversity outcomes through project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience coordinating programs, fieldwork and technical advisory activities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with landholders and stakeholders to establish and manage conservation agreements.
• Coordinate and deliver projects within scope, timeframes and budget.
• Provide technical and ecological guidance to support biodiversity outcomes.
• Conduct site assessments, fieldwork and GIS mapping.
• Build and maintain relationships with landholders, stakeholders and partners.
• Support compliance, monitoring and agreement management activities.
• Contribute to education, communication and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
