City of Moreton Bay is seeking a Regional Arborist to provide strategic and specialist arboricultural expertise for tree asset management and urban forest outcomes. You’ll lead a small technical team including a Senior Arborist and Tree Asset Inspectors, guiding inspections, risk assessments and policy development.

The role emphasizes strategic advice, technical assessments and proactive tree management, with oversight of projects and stakeholder engagement across council activities.

Formación

• AQF Level 5 Diploma of Arboriculture or higher.
• Construction Induction Card (or willingness to obtain)
• Current membership or willingness to join the Queensland Arborist Association
• Risk assessment training (QTRA, TRAQ or other)

Responsabilidades

• Provide specialist arboricultural advice, technical assessments and professional reports on complex tree management matters.
• Lead and improve tree asset management programs including inspections, risk assessment and data management.
• Review development, infrastructure and capital works projects for tree protection, retention and impacts.
• Support infrastructure and development works through site inspections, root investigations and arboricultural supervision.
• Develop and improve tree management strategies, standards and procedures for a safe urban forest.
• Use data and technology to improve service delivery, risk management and outcomes.
• Build relationships with Council, developers, consultants and stakeholders.
• Lead and develop the Technical Arboricultural team.
• Monitor legislation, standards and industry practices to support contemporary tree management.
