Job summary

Australia Wide Personnel is seeking a Refrigeration & HVAC Technician for a workshop-based role in Melbourne. You will assemble, test, and commission refrigeration and HVAC systems, interpreting technical drawings and wiring diagrams to meet performance requirements.

The role emphasises fault-finding, problem-solving, and maintaining a safe workshop. A Certificate III in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and ARCtick refrigerant handling licence are preferred, with steady day shifts and growth

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning required.
• Current Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARCtick) preferred.
• Experience working on refrigeration or HVAC systems.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and commission refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Interpret and follow technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform quality inspections.

The Company

Our client is a growing global leader in climate control systems for the energy sector.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step away from a traditional field service role and into a workshop-based environment, while still working on interesting and specialised equipment.

The Role:

• Assemble, test, and commission refrigeration and HVAC systems to ensure they meet operational and performance requirements.
• Interpret and follow technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for accurate installation and assembly.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform quality inspections to maintain high workmanship standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment while contributing to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.

To be successful, you will have:

• Certificate III in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
• Current Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARCtick)
• Experience working on refrigeration or HVAC systems
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude

Hours and pay rate:

Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm. Starting time can be a little flexible.

Pay rate: Up to $55 per hour depending on skill & exp + super + overtime
