Job summary

Downer is seeking a Refrigeration and HVAC Technician to maintain and service base and estate systems at Kokoda Barracks, Canungra. You will perform planned and corrective maintenance, handle refrigerants and liaise with stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, with licences or eligibility for Defence clearance. A current driver’s licence and openness to Defence environments are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
• ARCTick Refrigerant Handling licence (desirable)
• QBCC Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Licence (QLD), or NSW Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Licence
• Post-trade experience in refrigeration, air conditioning and HVAC maintenance
• Demonstrated expertise in fault diagnosis and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems
• Current Open Drivers Licence
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship is mandatory)

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled, preventative and corrective maintenance on refrigeration, air conditioning and HVAC systems.
• Carry out refrigerant handling in accordance with ARCTick licensing obligations
• Provide professional and timely responses to internal and external stakeholders
• Work collaboratively with other trades and subcontracts to support operational delivery

What You’ll Do
