Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to support Stockland’s national portfolio, including the Wetherill Park Town Centre. You’ll service, maintain, and repair air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems, diagnose faults, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure reliable operations.

Applicants should hold an Electrical Work Licence and have proven HVAC experience in commercial/industrial settings, preferably in shopping centres.

Qualifications

• Electrical Work Licence (Restricted or Full).
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Fault-finding and diagnostic experience across split, ducted and commercial HVAC systems.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
• Experience in commercial/industrial environments, ideally with shopping centre exposure.
• Experience with installation and commissioning of HVAC systems (desirable).
• Prepared for pre-employment checks including National Police Check and medical.
• Working with Children's Check – mandatory.

• Ensure all work complies with Australian standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements (including refrigerant handling).

Downer has been awarded a major Integrated Facilities Management contract with Stockland, delivering services across a national portfolio of commercial offices, retail centres, logistics facilities and land lease communities. This long‑term partnership reflects Downer's strength in managing large, complex portfolios and delivering high-quality services at scale.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced and qualified HVAC Technician to join our workforce and play a key role in supporting the effective and efficient management of properties across Stockland's national portfolio, this role will support Stockland's Wetherill Park Town Centre.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes for our client and our communities.

What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

• Servicing, maintenance, and repairs on air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems across shopping centre
• Diagnose faults and carry out timely repairs to ensure minimal disruption
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to maintain system efficiency and reliability
• Install and commission split systems, ducted air conditioning, and ventilation equipment as required
• Monitor and maintain indoor air quality and temperature control to support resident wellbeing
• Ensure all work complies with Australian standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements (including refrigerant handling)

What You’ll Bring

• Electrical Work Licence (Restricted or Full)
• Proven experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems
• Demonstrated fault-finding and diagnostic experience across split, ducted, and commercial HVAC systems
• Experience carrying out preventative maintenance and routine inspections
• Background working in commercial or industrial, ideally with Shopping Centre experience
• Experience with installation and commissioning of HVAC systems (desirable)
• Prepared to undertake necessary pre-employment checks including National Police Check and medical
• Working with Children's Check - mandatory
