Wellways is seeking a Recovery Worker to support people on their recovery journeys within a trauma-informed, collaborative psychosocial service. You will walk with clients to recognise strengths, build independence and reconnect with meaningful activities and communities.
You will work alongside the Psychosocial Team Leader and other service providers to deliver person-centred care, encouraging client-led decisions and empowerment. This is a full-time, ongoing role in a community-focused setting.
Wellways celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered to contribute. We warmly welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with lived experience of mental health challenges or disability, people from multicultural backgrounds, and people who identify as LGBTIQA+. We recognise that diverse experiences and perspectives strengthen our workforce and the communities we support.
As a Recovery Worker, you will walk alongside people on their individual recovery journeys, helping them recognise their strengths, build independence and reconnect with the people, activities and communities that matter to them.
Working alongside the Psychosocial Team Leader, clinical partners and other service providers, you will contribute to a collaborative, trauma-informed service where participants feel welcomed, valued and empowered to make decisions about their own lives.
This isn't about telling people how to recover. It's about working alongside them to help them find their own way forward.
You're someone who sees the person beyond their challenges and believes that recovery is possible for everyone. You bring warmth, empathy and a genuine interest in helping people build lives that feel meaningful to them. You're comfortable building relationships, encouraging independence and working alongside people rather than making decisions for them.
You understand that recovery looks different for everyone, and you're passionate about creating an environment where people feel safe, respected and supported to make their own choices.
You might bring experience from mental health, psychosocial support, community services, disability support or another related field. Most importantly, you're committed to person‑centred practice, inclusion and helping people achieve their own goals.
This is an opportunity to bring hope, empowerment and recovery into people’s lives while building a rewarding career in a supportive and values driven organisation.
