Job summary

IMPACT Community Services Limited invites applications for a fixed-term Peer Support Worker (27.5 hours per week) supporting adults with severe mental illness across Wide Bay, Fraser Coast and North Burnett. The role involves delivering group activities, creating recovery plans, and collaborating with Mental Health Case Managers.

You should have lived experience, a Cert IV or be completing it within six months, and the ability to travel across regions.

Qualifications

• Cert IV or willingness to undertake within six months in a relevant field.
• Lived experience of mental health and willingness to share that experience.
• Knowledge of recovery-oriented practice and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience facilitating peer groups and workshops.
• Ability to travel extensively across Wider Bay region.

Responsibilities

• Provide group-based peer support to participants case managed by Queensland Health.
• Share lived experience to support recovery and inspire hope.
• Develop and facilitate recovery-focused group activities, driven by participants' interests.
• Create Individual Recovery Plans with Mental Health Case Managers.
• Connect participants with peer support and community groups for ongoing recovery.
• Build partnerships with Hospital/Health Services and community providers.
• Maintain accurate participant records and data entry in relevant databases.
• Ensure compliance with Mental Health Act, National Standards, and safety standards.
