Mercy Health is seeking a qualified interpreter to provide patient-centred interpreting services across Mercy Hospitals, including Werribee Mercy Hospital. The role focuses on accurate communication between patients and health professionals to support quality care.

You'll collaborate with the Multicultural Services Team, manage booking records, and ensure compliance with vaccination and clearance requirements. Weekend availability may be requested as part of casual employment.

Competenze

• Experience interpreting in acute Australian hospitals; medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Current Police Check and Working with Children Check required or in progress.
• Vaccination status per public health orders (influenza and others).

Mansioni

• Provide interpreting services for patient care during consultations with health professionals across the hospital and satellite clinics.
• Maintain accurate records of bookings, including cancellations and rescheduled appointments; document outcomes.

About the Opportunity Primary Purpose/Focus of the role is to provide quality interpreting services for patient care.

• Additional items regarding the role can be found in the position description.
• Collaborate with Mercy Hospitals Multicultural Services Team to assist in cultural appropriate patient care.
• Experience in interpreting in acute hospitals in Australia, including knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

• Provide interpreting services at consultations with health professionals throughout the hospital and satellite clinics as requested.
• Maintain an accurate record of bookings, including cancellations and rescheduled appointments, and document the outcome of each service request.
• Liaise with the Interpreter Bookings Coordinator in relation to bookings.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
