Job summary

NSW Health is seeking an Administration Officer – Be the Backbone of Our Rural Health Service, based at the Eurobodalla regional hospital development in Moruya. This permanent part-time role (32 hours/week) offers an opportunity to support clinical and non-clinical operations and help deliver excellent patient care.

You will handle reception, clerical tasks, and switchboard duties, contributing to smooth, confidential service across departments within a growing health district.

Qualifications

  • Competent in common ICT tasks: word processing, data entry, emails, internet.

Responsibilities

  • The Hospital Receptionist/Administrative Officer provides administration and clerical support, including the management of the hospital switchboard.

The Eurobodalla Regional Hospital (ERH) is a new hospital currently under construction on the stunning Southern NSW coast, set to open in 2027 bringing state-of-the-art facilities and expanded services to the region.

Located in south-east Moruya, under four hours drive from Sydney and only two hours from Canberra. ERH will be larger than both the current Batemans Bay and Moruya hospitals combined. Designed with future growth in mind, ERH has the capacity to expand as the needs of the community evolve.

What you'll be doing

The Hospital Receptionist/Administrative Officer provides administration and clerical support, including the management of the hospital switchboard which to support quality communication across the facility.

Selection Criteria
  • Ability to work effectively in a high volume work area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a wide variety of people, both internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Competency in the use of common information and communication technology for example word processing, data entry, emails, internet.
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, providing an excellent customer service and maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to remain composed in extreme/emergency circumstances.
  • Able to demonstrate motivation, ability to take initiative within the bounds of a work role and capacity to work with minimal direct supervision.
