Job summary

Geosurv is a growing Australian surveying and geospatial services business based in Sydney. We are seeking a Spatial Technician to join the Spatial & Digital team, with hands-on field work and ownership of projects from capture through to deliverables.

You will work on construction, infrastructure and built-environment projects across Sydney, undertaking 3D laser scanning, reality capture and point cloud processing, and applying QA to ensure data accuracy for deliverables.

Qualifications

• Experience within surveying, geospatial, 3D scanning or reality capture.
• Practical experience with 3D laser scanners and point cloud data.
• An understanding of survey control and spatial accuracy.
• Experience using relevant 3D scanning, point cloud and/or CAD software.
• Strong computer and data-processing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to QA.
• Confidence working both independently in the field and collaboratively with a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach with clients.
• A current Australian Driver’s Licence.
• Construction White Card.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking site-based 3D laser scanning and reality capture
• Capturing, processing and managing point cloud data
• Producing models, drawings and other project deliverables
• Establishing and verifying survey control for scanning projects
• Processing and interpreting scan data using 3D scanning and CAD software
• Planning and delivering mobile scanning projects
• Supporting UAV-based projects, including planning, data capture and processing
• Reviewing project scopes and determining appropriate scanning methodologies
• Completing QA checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of spatial data
• Working directly with project teams and clients to understand project requirements
• Managing project data, documentation and deliverables
• Identifying smarter and more efficient ways to capture and deliver spatial information.
