Job summary

Emesent is seeking a Software Engineer for the Capture team to advance Cortex, the software backbone of our scanners. You will work from low-level C++ modules to Python tooling, contributing to real-time systems and autonomous robotics deployment in the field.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in software engineering, strong C++ and ROS/ROS2 experience, and comfort with Linux environments. The role offers growth, collaboration with hardware and product teams, and field-facing impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with robotics or embedded systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++ (C++14/17 or later) and Python 3.
• Hands-on ROS or ROS2 in development or production capacity.
• Comfort working with Linux-based development environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient C++ for real-time or resource-constrained systems.
• Use Python for tooling, prototyping, and analysis.
• Translate customer and field requirements into robust software.
• Participate in design, code reviews, and technical planning.
• Support debugging, verification, and deployment on hardware.
