Lagan’s Foundation is seeking a Children’s Play and Healthcare Worker to support children and young people aged 0–19 in their homes and communities. You’ll play, engage, and care beyond tasks, creating joy and development during visits of about two hours.

Qualifications

Hours: 16 hours, availability required Monday to Sunday, potential to have more hours

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be flexible and available to work across Monday to Friday, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and alternate between a Saturday(2:00 pm to 8:00 pm) and Sunday(1:00 pm to 7:00 pm), shift of 6 hours.

At Lagan’s Foundation, we’re not your typical care provider. We work differently because children need different things.

As a Children’s Play and Healthcare Worker, you’ll join our vibrant internal care team, supporting children and young people aged 0–19 with a variety of health and developmental needs, in their own homes and communities. You’ll be there to play, engage, and care — not just provide personal support. We are in families’ homes for a minimum of two hours per visit, and during that time, we don’t just tick off tasks, we create joy, promote development, and build lasting memories for children who may have limited time.

This role isn’t about ticking care plans — it’s about creating moments that matter.

In addition, you’ll need:

• Essential Availability: Applicants must be available to work Monday to Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, plus a 6-hour shift every alternate weekend (Saturday or Sunday). This role is contracted at 16 hours per week.
• Experience working with children and young people
• A love for play-based learning and interaction
• Confidence to work independently and collaboratively
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (with business insurance)
• Ideally, a qualification in childcare, playwork, or similar and Level 2 Health and Social Care
• A clear Enhanced DBS-Child & Adult workforce and on the update system (or willingness to apply for one)
