Job summary

Xavier Catholic College seeks a KLA Leader to drive school improvement, curriculum alignment, and instructional excellence. The role collaborates with the Executive Leadership Team and teachers to implement the shared vision for Welcome, Faith, Service and Learning.

The successful candidate will lead learning growth, use data to inform practice, and support a cohesive, faith-filled educational community. Category C development and leadership opportunities are available.

Your New Role

A KLA Leader is expected to be an outstanding educational leader and will commit to ongoing leadership growth. This role is expected to work closely with all members of the Executive Leadership Team, as well as other Middle Leaders and class teachers to assist in the implementation of a shared vision for school improvement, pedagogical best practice and the implementation of Curriculum requirements as mandated by NESA, CEDWW and Xavier Catholic College. It is a role that reflects the Bishop’s Charter and middle leaders play a significant role in ensuring our communities are a place of welcome, faith, learning and service.

• Permanent Teaching Position + Temporary Coordinator Position (3 Years, with the option of an additional 3 years pending successful growth and renewal process)
• Commencing 27 January 2027
• Salary determined by NESA Accreditation and Teaching Service + Coordinator 2 Allowance ($20,743 per annum)

Selection Criteria

• Be willing or able to attain Category C - To Work, Teach and Lead in a Catholic School community
• Be an excellent classroom practitioner
• Engage in collaborative relationships to achieve the vision and mission of the school community
• Experience or willingness to lead a self-reviewing and self-improving culture that informs and enhances learning
• Experience in leading learning growth for student cohorts
• A demonstrated ability to use data to inform practice and lead learning
• High levels of organisational skills and time management practices
• Ability to navigate complex issues and de-escalate highly emotional situations and provide appropriate guidance and support to all stakeholders
• An ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders in a timely manner
• Proven ability to plan, implement, manage, monitor and evaluate educational programs, provisions and resources
• Experience in leading teams or a willingness to grow as an emerging leader
• An ability to grow leadership capabilities and skills of a team
• Passion and interest in promoting positive relationships across the school with a strong focus and understanding in developing student learning growth

Essential Requirements

• A relevant teaching degree such as a Bachelor of Teaching or similar Bachelor Degree with Graduate Diploma of Education
• Appropriate tertiary education and experience in a leadership position including a willingness to pursue Category C for Work, Teach, and Lead qualifications
• Relevant Qualifications/Experience in one or more Key Learning Areas
• Excellence and exemplary practice as a classroom teacher
• Successful candidate to undergo a National Criminal History Check
• Valid NSW WWCC Check
• NSW NESA Accreditation

Desirable Requirements

• Masters of Education, Leadership or Theology
• An ability or willingness to teach Religious Education
• Experience in teaching Senior Classes
• Experience in a leadership role
• Current drivers licence
• Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
