Job summary

Kildare Catholic College is seeking a Permanent Full-time Educator Support Officer to commence as soon as possible. The role supports the Assistant Principal and Wellbeing teams, managing portfolio areas and maintaining high professional standards.

We require post-secondary qualifications (Certificate III/IV or Diploma) or substantial experience in complex office procedures. NSW WWC and an ability to work in a Catholic education environment are preferred.

Qualifications

• Accreditation in Mental Health First Aid would be beneficial.
• Experience in Catholic education, operational or administrative-related setting preferred.

Your New Role

The Educator Support Officer - PA to Assistant Principal and Wellbeing Support is expected to work actively towards the achievement of the College and Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga’s Vision and strategic goals, through the effective management of all role-specific portfolio areas. • Salary: Level 5 $44.53 per hour - Averaged (term-time only)
• We are seeking candidates with relevant post-secondary qualifications (Certificate III/IV or Diploma) or demonstrated substantial experience in complex office procedures and administrative systems. Equivalent combinations of relevant training and extensive practical experience will be highly regarded
• Accreditation in Mental Health First Aid or awareness training would be highly beneficial, but not essential
• Previous experience within a Catholic education, operational or administrative-related setting (preferred but not essential)
• Solid experience working in a highly organised office administration or support role (e.g. Personal Assistant or Team Assistant role) in a busy, ever changing and sometimes challenging environment
• Solid experience working in a similar educational or wellbeing support role within a school environment or educational institution
• Experience working with adolescents, young adults or children would be highly regarded, but not essential.
• Highly organised individual with strong abilities in task and work allocation and prioritisation, in a busy, multi-tasking and constantly changing team environment
• Advanced computer abilities with standard school systems (e.g. timetabling), databases, Google Drive / suite as well as Microsoft Office (Word, XL and PowerPoint)
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken) including ability to liaise professionally with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• A high level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence would be beneficial to the incumbent, so as to ensure sensitivity and discretion is applied in certain challenging situations which occur from time to time (e.g. the ability to maintain unconditional positive regard to a person or situation, when others around you may not be coping well or could be facing some kind of distress or recent trauma).
• Ability to interpret basic school-relevant data (e.g. student absenteeism data or curriculum / assessment results) and the ability to recommend practical suggestions or actionable objectives to a senior staff member
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to take initiative with idea generation, problem resolution and process improvement
• The ability to adapt to changing situations and remain patient, calm and composed during a challenging or difficult discussion, which may be highly sensitive, confidential and emotional in nature for the parties involved.

• Successful Candidate to undertake a National Criminal History Check
