What you’ll deliver
  • Maintain accurate rates and property records, ensuring compliance with statutory and Council requirements.
  • Provide timely, courteous, and accurate responses to ratepayer and stakeholder enquiries.
  • Process pensioner rate rebates, refunds, and financial adjustments efficiently and accurately.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Revenue and Rating unit to enhance service delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of rates administration.
What you’ll bring
  • Relevant qualification in business, property, accounting, or extensive relevant experience in rates and revenue administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Local Government legislation, including the Local Government Act 1989 & 2020, and the Valuation of Land Act.
  • Proven experience in customer service, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with ratepayers, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial management, including preparing reports, reconciliations, and analysing rates revenue data.
  • Proficiency with computerised rates and property systems, and the ability to work efficiently with databases and financial software.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
