Job summary

Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority in Lorne, VIC is seeking a hands-on Ranger to protect and manage national parks, reserves and coastal landscapes while delivering safe, memorable experiences for visitors.

Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll contribute to land management, conservation, visitor services and asset management across the Great Ocean Road region, partnering with Traditional Owners and local communities to protect biodiversity and heritage.

Qualifications

• Qualifications or experience in environmental science, conservation or land management.
• Experience delivering on-ground services as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Current Victorian Driver Licence.
• Commitment to safety, integrity and sustainable practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on-ground land, conservation, visitor management and asset services across parks and reserves.
• Assist conservation programs, pest plant and animal control and threatened species initiatives.
• Support construction, maintenance and improvement of visitor infrastructure.
• Engage with Traditional Owners, park visitors, volunteers and other stakeholders.
• Support cultural heritage protection programs and land management outcomes.
• Contribute to public safety, compliance and enforcement activities.
• Participate in stakeholder engagement and visitor information activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver projects and high-quality visitor experiences.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, operational efficiency and land management outcomes.
• Participate in emergency response and fire management where trained.
