Job description

The Ranger Fire Planning provides strategic leadership for landscape fire management across the South West Region's parks and forests. The role develops fire management strategies that balance environmental, cultural, community and economic values and recommends appropriate fire regimes to achieve sustainable outcomes. Working with a high degree of autonomy, the position contributes to planned burn delivery, bushfire response and regional resource coordination, while supporting and supervising small teams to deliver fire management objectives. The role maintains regional fire capability through training, mapping, intelligence and technical support, contributes to fire governance and continuous improvement and operates across complex, remote National Parks and commercial native production forests.
