Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Security Systems Engineer to join our Sydney-based team. The role covers end-to-end security system delivery, from design inputs to deployment and commissioning within complex rail environments.

You will configure access control, CCTV and intrusion systems, document designs, and support procurement and project integration. A background in engineering or security systems is essential, with strong documentation and coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in security systems engineering within complex infrastructure or rail environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of Access Control System, Intrusion Detection, CCTV design, deployment and testing.
• Ability to support system integration, interface coordination and site implementation.
• Experience producing technical documentation and supporting procurement and delivery activities.
• Understanding of configuration control, testing processes and commissioning requirements.
• Relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience in engineering or security systems.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end delivery support of security systems across projects.
• Translate system inputs into security system designs and implementation arrangements.
• Configure Access Control, Intrusion Detection and CCTV equipment and related infrastructure.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, configuration records and design inputs.
• Support procurement and technical evaluation activities for security systems equipment and services.
• Coordinate with project teams for integration and interface challenges.
• Plan factory/testing, site testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Provide technical support during deployment, commissioning and early operations.
• Maintain configuration control and design consistency across all deliverables.
