Job summary

Metro Trains Melbourne is seeking a Safety & Investigation Specialist to join the Operations Safety team on a permanent, full‑time basis, based at 700 Collins Street, Melbourne. You will conduct investigations under MTM's SMS, identify root causes, and develop corrective actions to improve rail safety across the network.

You will spot safety issues, share learnings, and contribute to organisational knowledge by communicating insights to operational leaders, regulators, and safety specialists.

Qualifications

• Experience leading safety investigations and root cause analyses.
• Proven ability to produce high‑quality investigation reports.
• Strong communication with management and staff.

Responsibilities

• Analyse safety and operational data to identify risks and trends.
• Develop intelligence and dashboards for decision making.
• Conduct trend and hotspot analyses to support proactive risk mitigation.
• Prepare concise intelligence reports for senior stakeholders.
• Maintain Power BI datasets and analytical tools for Security Operations.
