Job summary

John Holland is seeking an experienced Overhead Wiring Supervisor to join the Sydney Metro West Linewide Project Team. The role starts January 2027 as a full-time permanent position reporting to the Superintendent, with responsibilities spanning safety leadership, stakeholder management, and technical plan implementation.

You’ll coordinate multiple crews, review drawings, and ensure adherence to project methods and quality standards on a major rail electrification program.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications for rail electrical timelines and safety.
• Experience reviewing OCS/OHW design documents and drawings.
• Supervisory background and people management experience.
• Strong focus on safety and risk awareness.
• Experience with 25kV electrification projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work and performance of multiple teams & subcontractors.
• Provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety, and environment management.
• Contribute to development of work methods and rolling short term construction programs and plan daily/weekly production work.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate proactively with key personnel.
• Complete progress reporting and daily site diaries for the Superintendent.
• Read and review plans, drawings and implement final designs.
• Apply contractual mechanisms of subcontractors.
• Identify and mitigate risks and engage stakeholders to manage risk.
• Train and develop workforce leading hands and ensure safety and standards.
• Maintain consultation with worker representatives on safety matters.
• Follow John Holland policies and maintain quality documentation.
• Undertake safety, environment and quality risk assessments.
