Job summary

Boral Limited in Sydney and the Southern Highlands is seeking a Rail Operations Manager to lead our rail terminal network, ensuring seamless supply, delivery and distribution of quarry products while meeting customer needs.

You will oversee daily rail operations, optimise scheduling, ensure safety compliance, manage budgets, mentor staff, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in quarry or mining operations.
• Strong leadership and people management abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with internal/external teams.
• Computer literate with reporting software experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily rail operations for efficient transport of goods.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Optimise train scheduling, routing, and loading processes.
• Manage logistics and supply chain to meet delivery requirements.
• Monitor operational performance through KPIs.
• Develop and manage the operational budget with cost controls.
• Lead and mentor rail operations staff.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
• Address customer concerns and resolve service issues.
• Utilise technology and software for planning and reporting.
• Maintain communication with oversight groups to follow regulations.
