Job summary

Alstom in Queensland is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Manager for the Queensland Next Generation Rollingstock contract. Based in Wulkuraka, QLD, you will lead the Engineering team to optimise performance, reliability, and availability of the NGR fleet, with safety at the forefront.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will define the engineering strategy, manage risks and compliance, champion continuous improvement, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver safe,

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Expertise in engineering risk management, compliance, and configuration control.
• Track record of delivering continuous improvement, innovation, and reliability enhancements.
• Demonstrated experience in Rollingstock Engineering and asset lifecycle management.
• RPEQ accreditation (or eligibility to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing Maintenance Engineering team.
• Define and deliver the engineering strategy, roadmap, and key objectives.
• Drive performance against safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets (QCD).
• Manage engineering risks, design changes, configuration control, and obsolescence planning.
• Improve asset reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Champion innovation, new technologies, and engineering-led cost reduction opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance products, services, and operational outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and certification requirements.
• Develop engineering capability through coaching, mentoring, and skills development.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
