Job summary

Pacific National, Australia’s largest private rail freight operator, is seeking a Project Manager - Rail Infrastructure to lead the delivery of Rail Infrastructure Manager (RIM) projects across our national network. Based in Brisbane, Newcastle or North Sydney, you will develop plans, manage budgets and coordinate contractors, driving safe, on-time delivery and compliance with standards.

Applicants should have CPPM or PMP and a degree in engineering, project management or construction

Qualifications

• Australian project management qualifications such as CPPM or PMP.
• A degree in engineering, project management or construction management.
• Two to ten years of rail industry experience, ideally in Rail Infrastructure Manager environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, negotiating contracts, controlling costs and delivering commercially sound project outcomes.
• In-depth knowledge of rail infrastructure requirements and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans covering scope, schedules, budgets and resources for rail infrastructure projects across the national network.
• Lead the delivery of rail infrastructure projects involving track, drainage, civil works, OLE and signalling systems.
• Manage multiple projects and work packages, monitor milestones and address risks and cost variations.
• Maintain on-site presence at key milestones to oversee delivery and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers, engineering teams and stakeholders to achieve safe, high-quality outcomes.
