Job summary

Journey Beyond, Australia's leading experiential tourism group, is seeking an Electrician for the Rail Division to collaborate on critical rail maintenance across The Ghan, Indian Pacific, and The Overland. The role operates on a rotating roster (days 7:00 am–3:00 pm and afternoons 12 noon–9:00 pm) with some weekend work, and interviews will discuss roster details in depth.

You will perform trade-related tasks, including installation, servicing, fault finding and testing of electrical equipment,

Qualifications

• Electrician with Australian Electrical trade certificate.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand plans, diagrams, drawings and specifications, as well as reports.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and component overhaul processes and costing techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform trade-related tasks such as component overhaul, installation of mechanical and electrical equipment, fit out of electrical equipment and acceptance testing.
• Perform servicing, fault finding and troubleshooting tasks; work may be complex and must meet tight scheduling deadlines.
• Under direction of the Shift Technical Co-ordinator, be allocated maintenance, repair and service work tasks.
• Ensure good housekeeping, rail safety, environmental requirements and precautions are followed at all times.
• Responsible for complying with rail safety requirements relevant to their work, as communicated by Supervisors and the Operations Manager.
