Job summary

Fortescue is seeking a procurement professional to support sourcing, contract management and supplier performance across goods and services essential to its rail network. The role involves taking ownership of allocated procurement activities, contributing to category strategies and balancing cost with operational requirements and supply risk.

You will work alongside experienced category specialists and Rail stakeholders in a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Perth, with a Monday–Friday

Qualifications

Experience in procurement, sourcing or contract management in asset-intensive industries such as mining, rail or resources.
Ability to evaluate supplier proposals, pricing and commercial implications.
Clear written communication for award recommendations and contract variations.
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with Excel for commercial data.
Ability to manage competing priorities, attention to detail and follow-through.

Responsibilities

Sourcing and negotiation from scope development to evaluation, negotiation and award.
Support management of rail contracts including variations and commercial issues.
Monitor supplier performance with stakeholders to improve value and reliability.
Contribute spend, market and supplier insights to rail category strategies.
Analyse tender submissions and pricing to develop evidence-based recommendations.
Prepare procurement approvals and identify commercial and supply risks.
Build relationships with Rail stakeholders to align procurement with business priorities.
