Job summary

V/Line is seeking an Access Engineer to assess third-party access requests to the network, provide safety and operational guidance, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders. The role supports project delivery with a process-driven approach and requires collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering, infrastructure, construction or project environments.
• Experience with rail systems, track, civil or structures.
• Ability to apply processes, procedures or compliance requirements.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assess and respond to third-party access applications across the V/Line network.
• Review proposed works and advise on safety, operational and environmental requirements.
• Issue Site Access Permits and maintain application records.
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain relationships and monitor compliance with standards.
• Support process improvements and reporting.
• Travel across the V/Line network as required.
