Job summary

Queensland X-Ray, part of Sonic Healthcare, is seeking a Full-time leader to head our Westcourt, Cairns technical department. You will guide a Medical Imaging team, ensuring delivery of high-quality imaging services while aligning with clinical standards and practice protocols.

You will collaborate with regional leaders for workforce planning, drive service improvements, and mentor staff to maintain exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients, referring doctors and other members of the medical imaging team.
• Passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience and coaching others to do the same.
• Ongoing commitment to skill development, personal and professional growth, mentorship, overseeing training, development and performance of others.
• Full AHPRA registration and QLD Radiation Use Licence (as appropriate) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide managerial leadership of the Medical Imaging team delivering services in accordance with the relevant professional and ethical standards and the established practice and company-wide protocols and policies.
• Provide guidance to the Regional Chief Radiographer for workforce planning and capability strategies to improve service delivery.
• Collaborate with On-site Management and practice leaders across Cairns region to ensure effective service delivery and enhance quality outcomes.
• Provide managerial leadership of the practice under the direction of the Regional Chief Radiographer.
• Lead the development of service improvement initiatives to ensure high quality Medical Imaging services.
• Deliver advanced level medical imaging clinical services.
• Apply expertise to solve clinical service or workflow problems.
• Foster and promote a workplace culture aligned with Sonic Core Values.

About The Role

This full time role will see you providing strong leadership of the day to day operations and management of our technical department within our Westcourt, Cairns practice.

• Provide managerial leadership of the Medical Imaging team delivering services in accordance with the relevant prescribed professional and ethical standards and the established practice and company-wide protocols and policies
• Provide guidance to the Regional Chief Radiographer for the purpose of workforce planning and capability strategies to achieve enhancement and efficiency in service delivery
• Collaborate with In Charge Medical Administrator on site and practice leaders across the Cairns region and QXR wide to ensure effective service delivery and enhance quality outcomes
• Provide managerial leadership of the practice under the direction of the Regional Chief Radiographer
• Lead the development of service improvement initiatives to ensure the provision of high quality Medical Imaging services
• Deliver advanced level medical imaging clinical services
• Apply expertise to solve clinical service or workflow problems
• Foster and promote a workplace culture than aligns with the Sonic Core Values

About you

• Advanced level clinical skills in general radiography and CT (MRI skills preferred but not mandatory)

• Full AHPRA registration and QLD Radiation Use Licence (as appropriate) required
