Job summary

Hangar 85 Aircraft Maintenance Pty Ltd in Townsville is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) for Robinson helicopters. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Robinson R22/R44, and oversee 12 year / 2200-hour overhauls to keep aircraft in top condition.

You will join a growing team focusing on safety, quality, and aviation excellence, with a pathway to professional growth and closer partnership with a flight school.

Qualifications

• Experience in helicopter maintenance with a focus on Robinson aircraft.
• LAME qualification preferred or you are working towards it.
• Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Robinson helicopters.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Perform 12 year / 2200-hour overhauls.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records in line with regulatory and company standards.
• Collaborate with flight school to manage aircraft availability and reliability.
• Stay current with Robinson maintenance procedures and industry regulations.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Proven experience in helicopter maintenance, with a strong focus on Robinson aircraft. Experience on Turbine aircraft (AS350) is desirable.
• Qualifications: Ideally a LAME qualification or at least working towards one.
• Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Attitude: A proactive approach, team-oriented mindset, and a passion for aviation safety.
