Job summary

EPEC Group in South Brisbane, QLD, AU seeks a R2 Commissioning Engineer for on-site testing and performance validation of renewable projects. This full-time role offers strong career progression and exposure to HV engineering and end-to-end commissioning.

You’ll plan Test Plans, conduct Hold Point tests, and prepare GPS/compliance reports, working with AEMO, NSPs, EPCs and OEMs to ensure project readiness and grid integration.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in grid compliance, commissioning, or power systems on renewable energy projects.
• Working understanding of AEMO and NSP grid connection frameworks (R0/R1/R2).
• Familiarity with power systems modelling software (PSS/E and PSCAD preferred).
• Exposure to HV electrical systems, SCADA, and control systems.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage with AEMO, NSPs, EPCs, and OEMs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and negotiate Test Plans with AEMO/NSPs per project requirements.
• Prepare Hold Point tests and reports for GPS compliance and model validation.
• Lead testing across FAT, construction checks, cold/energisation/hot-commissioning.
• Provide testing and reporting for plant changes and ongoing compliance.
• Collaborate with EPCs, OEMs, SCADA providers to prepare projects for testing.
