Job summary

SiNAB Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking an exceptional R&D / Product Development Engineer to join our growing team and help deliver advanced Australian Defence and aerospace technology. You will work across disciplines, taking ideas from early research through to design, prototyping, system integration and real-world testing.

You’ll thrive on solving complex problems, applying first-principles thinking and owning end-to-end product development in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical/Electronic, Robotics or another relevant engineering or physical‑science discipline.
• An Honours degree, Masters or PhD involving research, experimentation or product development would be highly regarded but is not essential.
• Exceptional candidates from related scientific or technical disciplines will also be considered where they can demonstrate strong engineering capability.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the complete product development lifecycle from early research and concept development through to design, prototyping, system integration and testing.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to turn ideas into working products.

SiNAB is looking for an exceptional R&D / Product Development Engineer to join our growing engineering team and contribute to the development of advanced Australian Defence and aerospace technology.

This is an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, exploring new technologies and turning innovative ideas into working products.

Working across multiple engineering disciplines, you’ll contribute to the complete product development lifecycle, from early-stage research and concept development through to design, prototyping, system integration and real-world testing.

We’re particularly interested in engineers who bring strong technical curiosity, analytical thinking and a genuine desire to understand how things work.

You’ll be someone who:

• Enjoys tackling complex technical challenges that don’t always have obvious answers.
• Can apply engineering fundamentals and first-principles thinking to develop practical solutions.
• Is comfortable working across different engineering disciplines and learning unfamiliar technologies.
• Enjoys designing, building, testing and improving products.
