Job summary

Silicon Quantum Computing seeks a Design Engineer for Integration & Access to own the frontend and APIs that developers and researchers use. You will design the interface, build production code, and craft the design system that unifies circuits, qubit health visuals, and job queues.

Based in NSW, the role bridges researchers and engineers, balancing depth with usability, while shaping a cohesive user experience across SDKs, docs, and exploration notebooks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing and building web interfaces with depth in design and code.
• Portfolio of interfaces built for technical or specialist users.
• Strong interaction and interface design skills including information architecture and design systems.
• Experience with user research methods and translating outcomes into designs.
• Commitment to accessibility and compliant interfaces.
• Ability to read/write Python for notebooks and SDK examples.
• Familiarity with version control, testing, and code review processes.
• Ability to create clear interfaces atop complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the developer-facing UX across the surface: Circuit UI, SDKs, docs and notebooks.
• Design and build web frontends from research wireframes to production code.
• Develop a visual language for quantum concepts like circuits, topology and qubit health.
• Collaborate with API/SDK engineers to craft a compelling, simple UI.
• Define onboarding paths from first contact to running programs with examples.
• Maintain a cohesive design system and component library as the stack grows.
• Ensure interfaces are accessible with keyboard navigation, contrast, and screen reader support.
• Address visualization and performance needs for large circuits and dense data.
• Document design decisions to support team consistency and product quality.
