Job summary

Q-CTRL is seeking an exceptionally skilled Lab and Field Technician to support field trials and deployment of ultra-delicate quantum sensor hardware. You will handle lab prep, packaging, transport and on-site installation, ensuring prototypes reach field trials in optimal condition.

You will collaborate with quantum scientists and engineers, perform simple CAD work, light machining, and keep lab equipment running smoothly while solving problems in real time during high-stakes deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying cutting-edge hardware and supporting complex field trials.
• Hands-on electronics, optics or laser lab work.
• Basic programming and networking, including Python.
• Experience in academic or industrial research and cross-functional collaboration with scientists.

Responsibilities

• Assist in field trials: prep, testing, logistics, transport, installation and operation of state-of-the-art sensors.
• Troubleshoot and fix complex hardware and logistical issues during trials.
• Maintain and train others to operate lab equipment (3D printers, laser cutter, tools).
• Create simple CAD designs using Inventor for brackets, enclosures and mounting hardware.
• Perform light machining and fabrication to adapt components for field use.
• Collaborate with quantum scientists and engineers to iteratively improve hardware concepts.
