Job summary

The role involves setting performance requirements, building a test bench, integrating microwave, optics and control electronics, and delivering milestones for a partner, with flexible remote work considered.

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent) in physics, quantum engineering or related field.
• Hands‑on NV‑centre or spin‑based quantum sensing experience (ODMR, Ramsey, Hahn echo).
• Strong understanding of AC magnetometry, spin coherence and sensitivity.
• Lab experience with microwave/RF, optics and laser control.
• Clear technical writing for reports.
• Experience in a start‑up or industry‑partnered research.

Responsibilities

• Feasibility study and requirements for AC magnetometry.
• Design and test a proof‑of‑concept setup with NV diamond devices.
• Collaborate on test bench, microwave delivery, bias field and readout.
• Run experiments, compare results to theory and benchmarks, document findings.
• Develop control electronics documentation and validation.
• Support partner milestones and outline future chip design needs.
