CMC Markets ANZ is seeking a Quantitative Support Analyst to join the Quants team in Sydney. This hands-on desk-facing role sits between Options traders, Quants, Business Operations and Technology, supporting the front office trading system and related workflows.

You will automate tasks, enhance Python scripts, and provide functional and technical desk support for UK-based quantitative activities while liaising with London stakeholders.

Qualificações

• Degree in quantitative finance, mathematics, computer science or equivalent.
• Experience in front office support with trading application support or production support.
• Solid understanding of time series analysis and statistics.
• Experience across trading systems and related platforms.
• Strong Python scripting and ability to read, debug, and enhance scripts.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement and monitor quantitative trading strategies.
• Design, model, code and report on quantitative research using Python.
• Analyse technical indicators and conduct correlation analysis.
• Provide desk-facing functional and technical support.
• Investigate and resolve trading system, workflow, data and user issues with appropriate escalation.
• Collaborate with London-based stakeholders to explain, implement, and debug strategies.
• Develop, maintain and enhance Python scripts and support tools used by the desk and Quants team.
• Back test and optimise trading strategies and systems.
• Support business as usual processes, including checks, triage, incident follow-ups, and release validation.

We are looking for an Quantitative Support Analyst to join our Quants team. This is a hands on, desk-facing technical support role sitting between the Options traders, Quants, Business Operations and Technology. The role provides functional support for the Options trading system and related front office workflows, investigates day to day issues, and enhances tactical Python scripts and operational tools used by the desk. You will support business as usual processes, automate repetitive tasks and expedite larger development work where appropriate. Support the trading desk and quantitative team in UK from a Python coding perspective. Understand how systems are performing, working in the trading system.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantitative Analyst to build practical exposure to derivatives, trading and market making technology. You will also be working closely with our Quantitative Strategies department.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Design, implement and monitor quantitative trading strategies
• Design, model, code and report on quantitative research using Python
• Analyse technical indicators and conduct correlation analysis
• Provide desk facing functional and technical support
• Investigate and help resolve trading system, workflow, configuration, data and user issues, escalating where appropriate support for the Options trading system and related Derivatives workflows
• Liaise with Technology and Trading teams to explain, implement and debug trading strategies on trading platform
• Develop, maintain and enhance tactical Python scripts, utilities and support tools used by the desk and the Quants team
• Back test and optimise trading strategies and system
• Support business as usual processes, including application checks, issue triage, incident follow ups, release validation and post release support
• Make controlled bug fixes and small enhancements to existing Python scripts and operational code under guidance from the Options Quants team
• Automate repetitive support tasks and improve operation
• Gather requirements from Front Office users and Business Operations and help shape practical workflow improvements
• Understand the trading floor environment and the need to respond quickly to issues that can cause business outages
• Create maintenance, support and reporting tools relevant to the product area as appropriate
• Work closely with Options traders, Quants, Business Operations and Technology, including London based stakeholders

What Will Help You Be Successful?

• A degree in quantitative finance, mathematics, computer science or equivalent disciplines.
• Experience in front office support with trading application support, production support, technical business analysis or a technical support role within financial markets
• Solid mathematical understanding of basic time series analysis (Linear regression, generalized linear regression, ARCH/GARCH process), stochastic process (wiener process) and statistics
• Must have experience working across trading systems and related technology platforms
• Strong Python scripting skills, with the ability to read, debug, adapt and enhance existing scripts and operational tools
• Strong functional understanding of trading systems and workflows
• Experience in supporting a trading system in a prior role, coupled with Python and quantitative skills
• Good quantitivel and research skills
