Job summary

Perfection Fresh in Sydney is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Officer to safeguard our fresh produce standards across incoming and outgoing stock. You will perform quality assessments against customer specifications, carry out GMP checks and support food safety compliance on site.

You will deliver GMP training to RDC staff, maintain accurate QA records, and identify opportunities to improve operational processes.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in QA within a food manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and food safety standards is essential.
• Ability to document, track and report QA records clearly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality assessments of incoming and outgoing products against customer specifications and required quality standards.
• Perform compliance checks in accordance with customer specifications, internal procedures and relevant standards.
• Conduct daily product retention, EOSL and shelf-life assessments.
• Complete site GMP checks to support compliance with GMP, HACCP and food safety requirements.
• Deliver GMP training and guidance to RDC staff.
• Complete administrative tasks and maintain QA documentation.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing stock to ensure quality standards meet requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality assessments of incoming and outgoing products against customer specifications and required quality standards.
• Perform compliance checks in accordance with customer specifications, internal procedures and relevant standards.
• Conduct daily product retention, end-of-shelf-life (EOSL) and shelf-life assessments.
• Complete regular site GMP checks to support compliance with GMP, HACCP and food safety requirements.
• Deliver GMP training and guidance to Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) and other relevant staff.
• Complete administrative tasks and maintain accurate and up-to-date Quality Assurance documentation.
• Conduct and accurately record daily cool room temperature checks.
• Identify, report and elevate any issues relating to quality, technical principles, protocols or processes.
• Attend and actively participate in team meetings and other relevant activities as required.
• Proactively identify opportunities and recommend solutions to improve team performance and operational processes.
• Manage assigned tasks and priorities in a professional, organised and timely manner.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing stock to ensure all required quality standards and customer specifications are met.

Desired Skills and Experiences:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to safely perform the inherent physical requirements of the role, including repeated manual handling of loads up to 15–20 kg at heights between floor and shoulder level, with or without reasonable adjustment.
• Strong time management and organisational skills, with a methodical and structured approach to work.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and manage competing tasks in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
• Practical knowledge and experience working within an operational environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and make effective decisions.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
