Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance Coordinator to support site quality systems and daily manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure products meet customer, regulatory and internal standards.

You will lead and assist with audits, maintain HACCP and GMP compliance, investigate non-conformances, and drive continuous improvement across processes and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Previous QA or Food Safety experience in FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality systems.
  • Experience supporting customer, regulatory or certification audits.
  • Organised with good time management for multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proactive mindset with continuous improvement focus.
  • Able to support operational teams and build relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Support the site's Quality Management System and food safety programs
  • Assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits
  • Maintain compliance with HACCP, GMP, and certification requirements
  • Investigate non-conformances and support corrective actions
  • Provide day-to-day quality support across manufacturing operations
  • Support Quality Controllers with technical guidance and issue resolution
  • Review quality documentation, specifications, and records
  • Assist with customer complaints, trend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with production and cross-functional stakeholders to improve quality outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen quality systems and operational performance

Our client is a well-established FMCG manufacturer supplying products to major retailers, foodservice customers, and international markets. The business is committed to producing high-quality products while maintaining strong food safety, quality, and compliance standards across its operations.
Following continued investment in the quality function, an opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join a collaborative and supportive technical team.
About the Role

The Quality Assurance Coordinator will play a key role in maintaining and improving site quality systems while supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations. Working closely with production and quality teams, you will help ensure products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the site's Quality Management System and food safety programs
  • Assisting with internal, customer, and third-party audits
  • Maintaining compliance with HACCP, GMP, and certification requirements
  • Investigating non-conformances and supporting corrective and preventative actions
  • Providing day-to-day quality support across manufacturing operations
  • Supporting Quality Controllers with technical guidance and issue resolution
  • Reviewing quality documentation, specifications, and records
  • Assisting with customer complaints, trend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Working collaboratively with production and cross-functional stakeholders to improve quality outcomes
  • Identifying opportunities to strengthen quality systems and operational performance

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience in a Quality Assurance or Food Safety role within FMCG or food manufacturing

  • Experience supporting customer, regulatory, or certification audits
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Ability to support operational teams and build strong working relationships
