Job summary

Hays is partnering with a leading manufacturer in Melbourne's west to recruit a Qualified Welder for a full-time permanent role in Altona, VIC. You will weld, fabricate and assemble components for concrete pumps and mining equipment in a modern workshop, reading drawings and ensuring quality while following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade required or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a welder in manufacturing, engineering or heavy industrial settings.
• Experience with heavy equipment, mining or concrete equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MIG welding on steel components.
• Fabricate, weld and assemble components per drawings and specs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding procedures.
• Carry out repairs and rework as needed and perform quality checks.
• Maintain safety, quality and continuous improvement in the workshop.
