Job summary

Sawicki Pty Ltd (Mornington Nissan Service Centre) is seeking a qualified mechanic to join a growing, family-owned service team in Mornington. Immediate start with Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm and overtime available. Minimum 3 years’ experience and Cert 3 in Automotive required; Nissan experience is highly preferred.

You’ll work on Nissan vehicles with a supportive crew and ongoing training. Salary is based on experience and the right candidate will join a friendly workshop focused on quality

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes and lubricants to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct intake inspections and diagnostics to determine vehicle condition.
• Identify worn or damaged parts and perform replacements as needed.
• Accurately diagnose faults using appropriate testing equipment.
• Maintain service records for all vehicles serviced and repaired.
• Dismantle and reassemble mechanical components (transmissions, engines, steering) as required.
• Complete repairs or part replacements per service manuals and test functionality post-repair.
• Coordinate with service staff and management to ensure smooth workflow.
• Adapt to evolving vehicle technologies and different vehicle types.
• Uphold high standards of customer satisfaction.
• Assist with pre-deliveries and used vehicle reconditioning.

Min Qualification required Cert 3 in Automotive or higher and Nissan experience highly preferred. With preferred min 3 years experience as a qualified technician and Nissan experience highly wanted.

Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience specifically working with Nissan vehicles is preferred.

This is full-time employment working Monday-Friday from 8.00am till 4.30pm. With Overtime available.

As an experienced Service Technician your tasks and responsibilities will be :

• Carrying out regular vehicle maintenance services including the replacement of vehicle fluids such as oil, engine tune-ups or lubricants ensuring the vehicle runs effectively
• Determine vehicle condition by conducting intake inspections and diagnostics tests
• Identifying worn and damaged parts
• The accurate detection of faults in mechanical parts and vehicle engines using technical testing equipment such as computers where appropriate
• Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
• The removal and dismantling of mechanical components including transmissions, engine assemblies and steering mechanisms and completing a thorough inspection of the components
• Completing required repair work to mechanical components, or where necessary undertaking replacement of parts in accordance with relevant service manuals
• Reassembly of mechanical components post repair and conducting relevant tests to ensure the component is fully operational
• Liaise with service staff and management.
• Possess the ability to adapt to ever-changing technologies over a wide range of vehicles.
• Uphold the company's highest standards of customer satisfaction.
• Assist with Pre-deliveries and used vehicle reconditioning.

To be considered for this role you must:

• Have a minimum 3 years experience as a qualified technician.
• Hold a current Australian automotive trade license.
• Must possess valid Australian work rights and authorisation to work in Australia.
• Hold a current drivers license.
• Possess excellent communication skills and time management abilities.
• Flexible and willing to be a team player.
• Ability to work efficiently and meet or exceed targets and deadlines.
• Computer and tablet skills
