Job summary

AWESOME VAN & CAMPER HIRE PTY LTD in Brisbane is seeking a Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic to service, repair and perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of cars, campervans and motorhomes. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with diagnostic tools, replace faulty components, order parts and test-drive vehicles to confirm proper function.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Motor Mechanics (Cert III Light Vehicle) required.
• Experience as a motor mechanic with petrol and diesel engines preferred.
• Ability to work across multiple sites and maintain attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Servicing vehicles including minor repairs and preventative maintenance checks on fleet vehicles (cars, campervans, motorhomes).
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Repair and replace faulty components like engines, transmissions and suspension systems.
• Source parts from suppliers or wreckers.
• Inspect and test vehicles to ensure safety and performance standards.
• Maintain detailed records for repairs and maintenance services performed.
• Test-drive vehicles to verify repairs and proper function.
• Order parts and maintain stock levels to date.
• Keep work areas clean and organised.

Job description

We have an exciting new opportunity in our Brisbane Branch for a Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic to carry out Repairs, maintenance and quality checks on our Vehicles.

Main Duties:

Servicing vehicles including carrying out minor repairs and preventative maintenance checks on fleet vehicles (e.g. replacing fluids, changing oil/air filter, tyres, brakes, etc.) including cars, Campervans, Motorhomes and company fleet.

Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles using diagnostic tools and techniques

repair and replace faulty components like engines, transmissions and suspension systems

sourcing of parts from suppliers or wreckers

inspect and test vehicles to ensure they meet safety and performance standards

Maintain detailed records for repairs and maintenance services performed.

Test-drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper functionality

Ordering of Parts and maintain stock levels are up to date

Keep work areas clean and organised

What we're looking for

Trade qualification in Motor Mechanics (min. Cert III Light Vehicle Mechanic) with previous experience working as a motor mechanic (working experience within the car rental industry would be advantageous).

Experience with both petrol and diesel motors

A customer-focused, collaborative, and adaptable approach to work each day.

Ability to manage multiple tasks across multiple sites with a high level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Good communications skills (written and verbal)
