Job summary

GDH Builders is seeking a Qualified Carpenter to join our on-site team in Yeppoon, Queensland. This full-time role involves delivering high-quality carpentry across diverse residential and commercial projects, with emphasis on safety, accuracy and on-schedule completion.

You will read plans, interpret specs, install fixtures, doors and timber finishes, and work closely with other trades to meet client requirements.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship or formal qualification in carpentry with Australian certification.
• Proven experience as a qualified carpenter in residential and/or commercial projects.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety standards and best practices in carpentry.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with on-site collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install wooden structures such as frames, flooring, roofing and fixtures.
• Read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints and technical specifications.
• Prepare work sites, set up scaffolding and maintain safe working conditions.
• Fit and install doors, windows, shelving and cabinetry with precision.
• Carry out finishing work including sanding, staining and varnishing timber surfaces.
• Collaborate with other trades, supervisors and clients to meet project requirements.
• Maintain tools and equipment and follow all health and safety protocols.
• Contribute to problem solving on-site and suggest better construction methods.

GDH Builders is seeking a Qualified Carpenter to join our dynamic team in Yeppoon, QLD. This is a full-time position based on-site, offering an excellent opportunity to work on diverse residential and commercial carpentry projects. As a Qualified Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality craftsmanship and ensuring projects are completed to specification and on schedule. Your expertise and attention to detail will directly contribute to the reputation and success of GDH Builders in the local community.

What you'll be doing

Assembling and installing wooden structures such as frames, flooring, roofing, and fixtures according to plans and specifications

Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications

Preparing work sites, including setting up scaffolding and ensuring safe working conditions

Fitting and installing doors, windows, shelving, and cabinetry with precision and accuracy

Performing finishing work including sanding, staining, and varnishing timber surfaces

Collaborating with other tradespeople, supervisors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met

Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition and following all health and safety protocols

Contributing to problem-solving on-site and making recommendations for improved construction methods

What we're looking for

A completed apprenticeship or formal qualification in carpentry with current Australian certification

Proven experience as a qualified carpenter in residential and/or commercial building projects

Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and best practices in the carpentry industry

Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively on-site

A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to different job sites as required
