Job summary

CSL Behring in Broadmeadows (Melbourne) seeks a QC Sample Management professional to coordinate and manage samples supporting Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Chemistry testing. You will help ensure activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with GMP and lab standards.

As part of a site undergoing expansion, you will contribute to world-class manufacturing capabilities that support Australia's export economy and enable development of next-generation medicines onshore.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Ability to follow laboratory test procedures and operate laboratory equipment.
• Knowledge and practical experience of GMP/GLP and Windows-based software.
• Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to compliant lab activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Code of Responsible Business Practice, Global Quality Policy, Site Quality Manual, and cGMP requirements.
• Perform routine QC testing, assay execution, and support day-to-day lab operations.
• Manage laboratory housekeeping, inventory, stocktakes, ordering materials, and monitoring in-house standards.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Complete, review, verify, enter, file, and archive lab records and test data (LIMS, batch records, GMP docs).
• Coordinate QC sample management activities including sample distribution and external testing.
• Support procedures, forms, and test methods updates through approved systems and Lean Six Sigma improvement initiatives.

The Opportunity

Join CSL Behring at our Broadmeadows site as part of the QC Sample Management team, where you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient coordination and management of samples supporting Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Chemistry testing. You will help ensure activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with GMP, approved test methods, and laboratory standards. As part of a site undergoing significant expansion and investment, you will contribute to world-class manufacturing capabilities that support Australia’s export economy, create high-skilled employment opportunities, and enable the development and commercialisation of next‑generation medicines locally.

The Role

• Ensure compliance with the Code of Responsible Business Practice, Global Quality Policy, Site Quality Manual, and applicable cGMP requirements in all laboratory activities.
• Perform laboratory duties, including routine QC testing, assay execution, and support of day‑to‑day laboratory operations.
• Manage laboratory housekeeping, inventory, stocktakes, ordering of materials and reagents, and monitoring of in‑house standards and controls to meet QC testing requirements.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and facilities in accordance with approved procedures, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions as required.
• Complete, review, verify, enter, file, and archive laboratory records and test data, including LIMS entries, batch records, and GMP documentation.
• Coordinate QC sample management activities, including sample distribution within QC, external testing, and associated record management.
• Support the preparation, review, and updating of procedures, forms, and test methods through approved systems, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma principles.

To be successful

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Ability to follow laboratory test procedures, operate laboratory equipment, and work effectively within a LEAN laboratory environment.
• Knowledge and practical experience of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and Windows‑based software applications.
• Strong organisational, time management, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to ensure testing and activities are completed within required timelines.
• High attention to detail and commitment to the accurate, thorough, and compliant completion of laboratory activities.
