Aviation Careers Australia is recruiting a Direct Entry First Officer for QantasLink in Canberra, ACT. This full-time role offers base locations across Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, with a salary range of AUD 79,252 to 94,383 plus Super and allowances.

Ideal candidates will bring hands-on flying experience, Australian licences, and the ability to pass medical and security checks, ensuring safe, efficient operations and career progression within the QantasGroup.

Qualifications

• Minimum 500 hours total flight time in an aeroplane.
• ATPL(A) or CPL(A) with passes in all Australian ATPL Theory subjects.
• Endorsements for Instrument Approach 2D and 3D on Multi Engine Aircraft.
• Level 6 English Language Proficiency on Licence.
• Current CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate.
• Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol Test.
• Ability to pass Qantas pre-employment medical.
• Ability to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Current passport with unrestricted access to Qantas ports of call.
• Right to work in Australia / New Zealand without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as a First Officer on QantasLink regional routes.
• Maintain safety and regulatory compliance across operations.
• Support crew teamwork and mission efficiency in a high-demand environment.

As a First Officer You'll Have

• A minimum of 500 hours total flight time in an aeroplane (Preference will be given to candidates who have flown at least 50 hours in the previous 12 months )
• An Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL (A)) or Australian Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL (A)) with passes in all Australian ATPL Theory subjects
• Hold endorsements for Instrument Approach 2D and 3D on a Australian Instrument Rating - Multi Engine Aeroplane
• A Level 6 English Language Proficiency on your Licence
• A current CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate
• The ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test
• The ability to pass a Qantas pre‑employment medical
• The ability to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
• A current passport with unrestricted access to all Qantas ports of call
• The right to work in Australia / New Zealand without restriction or sponsorship
