Job summary

Core Talent in Spearwood, WA, is seeking a QA Manager for a modern food manufacturing facility. You will lead quality assurance, food safety systems, and regulatory compliance across a high-volume operation, and work closely with site leadership and major retailers to uphold standards.

Ideally you hold a Food Science degree with 4+ years in QA, experience in meat processing, internal auditing qualifications, and a track record in audits, CAPA, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in food quality assurance or quality systems management.
• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or related discipline.
• Internal auditing qualifications and knowledge of HACCP, GMP, CFMSR and traceability.
• Experience leading audits, investigations, corrective actions and CI initiatives.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Quality Assurance professional looking to take the next step in your career?

We’re partnering with a well-established Australian food manufacturer specialising in chilled meat products to recruit a QA Manager for its modern manufacturing facility in Spearwood.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead food safety and quality across a high-volume production environment, working closely with site leadership and major retail customers to maintain exceptional standards and drive continuous improvement.

About the Role

Reporting to senior site leadership, you will oversee quality assurance, food safety systems and regulatory compliance, ensuring products consistently meet customer, retailer and industry requirements.

You’ll lead quality initiatives across the site, support operational teams and foster a proactive culture of food safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

• Lead and maintain site quality management and food safety systems.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, CFMSR and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Manage internal and external audits, customer audits and retailer compliance.
• Oversee traceability programmes, product specifications and quality documentation.
• Lead investigations into non-conformances, complaints and food safety incidents.
• Implement corrective and preventative actions to minimise quality risks.
• Develop, review and maintain SOPs, procedures and technical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with production, operations and senior management to improve quality and efficiency.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members, building a strong quality-focused culture.
• Support packaging updates, product labelling and approval processes.

About You

You’re a hands-on quality professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to influence quality standards across a busy manufacturing site.

To be successful, you’ll ideally have:

• A degree or relevant qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline.
• At least 4+ years of experience in food quality assurance or quality systems management.
• Previous experience within food manufacturing, ideally red meat or meat processing.
• Internal auditing qualifications and a strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, CFMSR and traceability.
• Experience managing audits, investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• The ability to lead, coach and develop a quality team.

Highly regarded: Experience with AUS-MEAT standards, retailer requirements, packaging and labelling approvals, and developing technical documentation.
