Job summary

Private Advertiser on the Gold Coast is seeking a hands-on Food Safety and Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our production team on weekday day shifts.

You will perform on-line QA checks, support QA systems, audits, and continuous improvement, while train staff in food safety and GMP, ensuring compliance with customer specs and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Understanding of HACCP, GMP, food microbiology and QA systems.
• Qualification in food science, biotechnology or similar, or equivalent industry experience.
• Ability to work well on a production line and as part of a team.
• Clear communication with people at all levels.
• Initiative and practical problem-solving.
• Strong organisation and the ability to work to timelines with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Work on the production line carrying out QA checks to confirm product meets customer specifications, food safety requirements and regulatory standards
• Process QA, production and logistics records
• Conduct internal and GMP audits
• Support external audits by government and certifying bodies
• Make real-time decisions on line QA issues and consult the Operations Manager as needed
• Assess, investigate and help implement corrective and preventive actions for complaints and non-conforming product
• Coordinate in-process and finished product samples for analysis
• Coordinate calibration of quality-critical equipment to schedule
• Identify and take part in process improvement work
• Train and support staff in food safety and quality
• Work with other site teams to maintain QA systems and GMP standards

The role:

You will spend a large portion of your time on the production line verifying product quality and food safety in real time. You will also support the broader QA system, records, and improvement work.
